Wally taught at Kulm and Portland before moving to Langdon in 1945 where he taught and coached. He received his degree in guidance counseling from The University of North Dakota in 1963. He received an MA degree from The University of Northern Colorado. He graduated from Mayville State University in March of 1945. He was active in student affairs and athletics. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1939 and attended Jamestown College from 1939 to 1943. His father was a long time sheriff of Trail County. Wallace was born June 3, 1920, in Hillsboro - the son of Albert and Hannah Osmon.
